Tell us a little about you before you started at Nashletics.
I played sports growing up and was real active but definitely fell off that band wagon in my 20's. Worked in restaurants all my life which makes it hard to eat like a normal person much less eat healthy. Lots of weird hours and eating as much as you can as fast as you can since you didn't know when you would get the chance again.
What was the main reason you joined the gym?
Hit my thirties and saw that I was going to end up just like my dad, extremely overweight and emotionally eating because of it. Also I had to unbutton my fat pants to wear them.
When did you find out Nashletics was the right place for you?
About 3 weeks into my first challenge. Already had lost 5% and was seeing results faster than anything I had tried on my own. Plus Nashletics completely turned my preconceived notions about crossfit stereotypes on its head.
What has been your greatest achievement over the last 12 months?
Getting my first bar muscle up. Man that felt great. Plus it allowed me to do my first Open as an Rx athlete.
What are your goals for 2019?
Get stronger and healthier. Also to beat Nathan in the October Open.
What are your favorite things to do on your own time?
My own time? What's that?
Tell us a fun story that most of us don't know about.
Back in Kentucky I played tenor sax in a cartoon metal band. We covered the Muppet Show theme, Black Sabbath, Marvin the Martian song, and original songs about Yetis that crashed on your couch and drank all your beer and smoked all your pot. I wore a gimp mask on stage. Photos on facebook.
